About Engineering College of Aarhus

 

 

 

Since 1915, the Engineering College of Aarhus (Ingeniørhøjskolen i Århus – IHA) has educated highly qualified engineers for the Danish and international business world. The Engineering College is a self-owning institution and its studies are financed by the state. The Engineering College has app. 1,500 students and 150 academic, technical and administrative staff.

 

The Engineering College offers eight Bachelor of Engineering programs and four international programs as well as it in cooperation with Aarhus University offers eight Master of Engineering programs and three Bachelor of Science programs.

 

Additionally, the Engineering College offers a series of admission courses and supplementary courses to students who do not have the necessary qualifying exams for the engineering studies.

Close cooperation with business life

 

The Engineering College cooperates closely with business life in order to ensure business-oriented education with a high level of professional competence. Cooperation with business life takes place in amongst others our industry-related laboratories, where teachers and students work with companies on specific development projects.

Aarhus School of Engineering

 

Aarhus School of Engineering (ASE) is a joint partnership between Aarhus University through its Faculty of Natural Sciences and the Engineering College of Aarhus (IHA). ASE represents all engineering studies in Aarhus, bachelor as well as master studies and associated PhD programs within the engineering sciences.

 

In addition, the Engineering College collaborates closely with other educational institutions such as Aarhus School of Architecture, Aarhus School of Marine and Technical Engineering and VIA University College.

International Cooperation

 

We run courses in English for international students and have partner institutions all over the world, with which we exchange students and lecturers. In this network we also facilitate exchange of ideas in order to improve technical and educational development.

 

 

The Engineering College moves to new facilities

 

In 2014, the Engineering College of Aarhus, Aarhus School of Marine and Technical Engineering and a department of INCUBA Science Park move to the new building Navitas Park on the Aarhus docklands.

 

Navitas Park will consist of new facilities for education, research, development and entrepreneurship as well as a public parking space. More than 2.300 students and employees will have their daily life at Navitas Park.

 

The vision for Navitas Park is to become a knowledge centre and innovative environment within energy, environment and civil engineering.
