Biomedical Technology Lab.

The Centre for Biomedical Technology supports the Engineering College in the development of biomedical technologies and methods. Projects are carried out in collaboration with the medico-technical industry, the Faculty of Health Sciences, the University of Aarhus and Skejby Hospital.
The Cardiovascular Fluid Dynamics Laboratory focuses on the very complicated fluid dynamical conditions which are present in the cardiovascular system and which are linked to the frequently occurring heart diseases. New methods of measurement and analysis are developed to study these conditions. The Medical Ultrasound Laboratory focuses primarily on diagnostic ultrasound techniques for the detection and classification of breast lumps for the purpose of developing a new screening method for breast cancer.
The main purpose of the activities in the centre is to qualify students and graduates to participate in interdisciplinary collaboration teams with medical doctors and engineers from industry in the development of new instruments and methods used to diagnose, monitor and treat patients.
