Civil and Structural Engineering (in Danish only)

If you want to turn loose ideas on the drawing board to tangible buildings, or you want to plan roads, dams and harbours, make environment examinations of the soil or improve the indoor climate in buildings - then the Bachelor in Civil and Structural Engineering is something for you.
The Bachelor in Civil and Structural Engineering provides you with a broad understanding of building- and structural technology and makes you capable of planning everything from the single-family house to the biggest company domicile. You will be well equipped for handling jobs in Danish and international businesses, and the education is a good stepping stone for becoming a manager or executive.
At the Engineering College of Aarhus you will be part of an inspiring environment with more than 500 students within building and construction. The daily teaching is supplemented with visits at construction sites, lectures with people from the construction industry, experiments in the laboratories and study trips to European metropolis.
The program takes 3 ½ years, of which half a year is a paid internship. Following the bachelor degree, you can continue with a master degree, which takes further 2 years.
Structure of Studies
The study is composed of a general part, engineering training and a specialization part:
The general part offers five compulsory courses and one semesterproject each semester. For students with no practical experience a 5-week workshop course is an integral part. The engineering training in the 5th semester is undertaken as on-the job-training in an engineering company. The specialization part (last year of study) is formed as a series of elected courses and a bachelor project (thesis work).
