Bachelor of Engineering program (in Danish only)

It takes three-and-a-half years, including a traineeship, to gain a B.Eng.(Engineering) degree and become a Diploma Engineer. The Engineering College of Aarhus offers the following degrees in danish only:

• Mechanical Engineering

Basic subjects

Before they begin their studies, the students choose the department within which they wish to study. In the first two years the courses mainly consist of scientific foundation subjects and technical engineering subjects.

The engineering traineeship

The integrated engineering traineeship takes place in the fifth semester of the course. The traineeship, which is compulsory, gives, among other things, the student a practical understanding of and relationship to the engineering subjects studied at the College.
The student participates in the ongoing projects of a Danish or a foreign company.
 

Specialization

After the engineering traineeship the student can freely choose to specialize via a number of optional courses. The specialization will be influenced by the projects the students are interested in or which they worked on during the engineering traineeship.

The Bachelor Project

In the last semester, the student carries out his/her final project. This will take from 3 to 5 months. The majority of the subjects for the final projects come from industrial companies, hospitals or other public companies. Mostly, an associate professor at the Engineering College will supervise the student in the project, often assisted by an employee from the company in question. The bachelor project can be carried out alone or in groups of 2.

Optional subjects

The Engineering College will also offer optional subjects concurrently with the bachelor project.
