Description:
In 2005 the Danish Road Directorate (in daily terms DRD), was given the task of carrying out the design, planning and tender of a new highway stretch. The stretch, going from Als in east to E45 in west would have the purpose of connecting one of the outskirts of Denmark to the main land.
A part of this project is to design and plan a junction connecting the future highway to the already existing E45. The junction will be done while the existing highway is open for traffic, leaving certain design, construction and traffic safety issues to be taken care of.
In the project a junction design, as well as a traffic diversion and construction concept and planning will be done.
The design and planning will be shown and described through drawing material and a report. The report will explain and argue for the choice´s which has been made as well as explaining overall concepts within the planning chapters.
In connection with the planning of the construction phase, an approximated construction price has been calculated. This has been done to give an idea of the overall costs, for carrying out a project of this size and complexity.
