"The ability to execute innovation within this summerschool is enormous. Different ideas, cultures and disciplines make the development of products challenging and very meaningful! Due to the combination of lectures and group work, I felt I could apply new knowledge immediately. Returning home, I realized how strongly I’d increased my knowledge, network and self-awareness. Working with professionals from B&O is an inspiration to everybody. Although creativity, knowledge and motivation were already present within the workgroup itself, the B&O guidance made sure we walked the right paths during the development. They gave us their trust and many opportunities we could not even dream of in our own university. Knowing what your skills and personality can mean within a multidisciplinary workgroup is very important to me. Getting to know your future colleagues and working environment makes you more prepared for your professional life. Working hard is great, especially when you feel you are working with the right people on the right project! Summerschool does not feel like working, I’ve had the best fun during every aspect of the program."

"The projects were mind blowing, focused on future applications that made us push our limits and boundaries to new levels. Working in multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary teams was a great idea, making our network grow immensely! Working specifically with B&O professionals was inspiring and made us even closer to the real world of innovation, business and real-time pressure. So I did have the chance to prove myself and my skills on the field.
All the social events were great and everything went right as planned. And that, for me, was impressive. The cinema, bowling, trips, dinners and so on were a great way to bond with new people from the CDDIP students as for people outside our group. Having the chance to travel and meet new people and realities is a must for me. So this was a great experience.
All the teachers, people at B&O and at the boarding school were fantastic. We got a lot a support and feedback. At the boarding school we were very well taken care of."

“My experience at Summer Innovation Camp during the summer in 2008 was one of the strongest I have ever had. We first came into our workplace with blank papers and with almost no visions or ideas about what our project was going to be about. Then after three weeks we were presenting the real thing and I regard it as a great performance. But it is just one part of all the matters that were happening, we worked as a tool and if anybody wants any tool being operating properly, then the tool needs to be tuned up very well and that is why we got a lot to thank all the teachers and people from B&O who helped us for. They gave us primary visions at the beginning and were leading us through our projects with quite a good accomplishment I think. For me it was a great opportunity to learn many new things, one of them is working in the international environment and I could compare my skills and find my limitations.
We spent lots of hours working and underwent several lectures, so I give a great thank to all ladies responsible for the catering and the fresh coffee everyday. The other part of our stay was diverse and perfectly organized social events, where we could fresh up our brains.
I enjoyed a lot visiting Struer city hall, west coast trip, bowling, visiting museums and more.
We did have fun, we made new friends, but there was a lot of work behind it all. If I could go again, I would not hesitate. I recommend it to all who would like to gain experience for their future career.”

“As for me the IP Courses in Struer was an enormous chance to cope with myself before the real life, fulfilled with stress, tasks and deadlines. I have to admit, that the whole event was great, but sometimes also a little bit messy- probably it was planned to be so. All tasks were really demanding and gruelling, but who did not want to find himself in such reality? If you want to test your abilities and learn something more you have not even expected, the Summer School is the right place. If you want to improve your skills, no matter what kind of person you are, the Summer School is the right place. If you want to meet fantastic people from all around the Europe, to join great business community and make new friends... you know the answer. It's busy time, but worth your blood, tears and sweat.”

"When I look back on the summer school, I wonder how we got from an empty white booth to a futuristic idea of a product, which both looked and felt real. This is what can happen when you take three weeks, five people with different backgrounds and nationalities, give them a rough area of interest and make them generate ideas for possible products. And a lot of ideas were generated, thrown out and revisited. During the process there weren’t only drawings but also a lot of gluing things together, which is a lot different from what an ordinary class exercise would include. Everybody had to contribute with their skills, and you realize that ideas you thought were impossible to workout become fairly easy, because the group can handle the problem with a combined effort. During these three weeks, I saw how teamwork and the skills I earned during my education could also be used, but in a different way than we’re used to. International teamwork is a good thing, and the summer school is definitely worth it, even though it’s a lot of hard work and also a lot of fun, of course."

"Its a funny thing. What I think off when I look back on the summer camp, its not the educational content that springs to mind, the lectures or the problems we had to solve. Its the people. All the great personalities that I met, and made friends with. And then as I think about the people, I think about their skills, and how they are so different from mine. Such a diverse group of people, coming together to work on a problem at hand. Then I really start to remember the actual problem solving, and how the people from different cultures took on challenges in different ways. Most of them were very similar to what you see in an average classroom, and the idea of difference in culture is really getting smaller and smaller. But to me, this summer camp was of great value. Not only for the things that I learned about interdisciplinary team working, but also for the friends that I made. A truly priceless experience, that I am grateful to have
