Description:
New office building for Fagbladsgruppen - by Friis & Moltke.
The project is a future plan, it was only on the sketch board, and we wanted to work on a project which could possibly be built in future in Birk Centre Park - Herning. Architect wished the office building should be without any visible column in the facades and it made the architects want the building to be unique and transparent as possible.
A facade without visible vertical lines or column, the design of traditional beam column was not possible in this case. Because of the wish from architect, we worked on to different suggestions for design of the new office building.
One of the suggestions was to use beams and column system the column was integrated in the facade modules. The other one was to use glass column in structural design. Because of the facade module which has glass areas and panels, we wanted to integrate the glass column in window frames.
