This is guide on how to configure the applications for POP3, if you wish to use Outlook.
Outlook can be used on both IHA's internal network and your own network at home.
This service is only available to students started prior to summer 2009. All other students must forward ther IHA-mail to an address of their choice. Se the Mail forward guide for more information.
1:
Start Outlook. This is done by clicking the small icon the looks like a clock next to the Start-button. Outlook can also be started by clicking on the icon in the start menu.
2:
When Outlook has started, click "Tools", "Email Accounts".

3:
Select "Add a new email account".

4:
Choose POP3.

5:
Type the details for the account. The username is "iha\ ", e.g. "iha\01234". The outgoing SMTP should only be set to "smtp.iha.dk" if you are on IHA's network, otherwise you have to use your ISP's own SMTP server, as described on the page "Mail from home".
6:
Important! You need to configure Outlook to use a secure connection. You won't be able to receive mails if you don't configure this.
Click on "More Settings...". Click the tab "Advanced". Below the step "Incomming server (POP3)" check "This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL)". Make sure that the box 'Incomming server (POP3)' is set to 995. Accept the changes by clicking "OK".
If you wish to leave a copy of the mails on the server, check "Leave a copy of messages on the server"

7:
Click "Finish". Outlook's now ready to send and receive mails.
