2010 International Photo Competition Results
Thanking the contestants for their participation, we are now glad to give the results of the competition:
The Public’s prize
The public chose Polish student Kacper Wieckowski’s photo no. 9a as the winning photo.

“The photo was taken on a trip to the northern tip of Denmark, where the two oceans meet at Grenen near Skagen. I am running in the waves and feeling great about touching two oceans at the same time – a fantastic tourist attraction and a must if you are an international student.”
The Jury’s prize
The two judges chose Tonny Petterson’s photo no. 21a as the winning photo for the following reason:
“A technically impressive photo, which – with few picture elements – tells the story with a spectacular simplicity. The photo was taken at the right time, whereby the car adds dynamism to the wonderfully peaceful photo.”

“The photo was taken on the Maldive Islands during my internship at MT Højgaard in the spring of 2010.”
Both winners will each receive gift vouchers of 1,000 DKK. Congratulations!
The two judges also chose a second and a third place, for which there are no prizes:
Second place
Turkish student Onur Erbil’s photo no. 14a:
“The photo tells the story in an impressive way by exploiting the depth of focus. This creates a good connection between the two persons. Suggestion to improvement: The person in front should have been sharp instead of the person at the back.”

“I am studying Environmental Engineering and my first photo is about my studies. In this photo we determine physical property and microbiological life of Lyngbygård Å.”
Third place
French student Hubert Rousseau’s photo no. 7b:
“Wonderfully simple photo, where black/white is justified. You can easily sense the little story that is being told.
Suggestion to improvement: Cutting the photo at top and bottom, as it is too black at the edges. Including for instance a steaming cup of coffee or a sleeping student with his head on the book.”

“The photo was taken a few days ago and “answers” the scholar part of the competition. Sometimes, students have to work until late during the night, especially when exams are about to come...! I like that picture, which shows that even if it's very late, we may be at our desk studying, and I think this picture's atmosphere transmits that emotion.”
