Requirements and Admission

The Summer School welcomes you who:
-
are studying to become an engineer - on bachelor or master level
-
have a great interest in Wind Turbine Technology
-
will finish your engineering education within the next year
-
have educational competences within Machine Design or Power Engineering and Electronics.
Throughout the Summer School, you will be working creatively in teams across the different engineering disciplines in an international environment. The lessons will be conducted in English.
Competences
Through participation in the Summer School you will gain the following competences:

Understanding of advantages, problems and principles in power from wind energy

Understanding of the functions and main elements of the wind turbine

Experience in applying your own engineering knowledge to specific wind turbine problems

A wind turbine technical approach to subjects such as:
-
Composite materials
-
Power engineering applications
-
Mechanics
-
Life cycle assessments

Course dimension
Other than participating actively in the classes, you will work in groups on a case exercise during the last days of the Summer School. The group will make a poster and presentation based on the group work. The poster and presentation constitute part of your exam. After the presentation, you will be tested individually where you will have to answer questions about the basic considerations in your group work. You will be assessed with pass/fail.
If you pass, you will get a course diploma of 5 ECTS-credits.
